Doug Fisher
Head Coach
Varsity Wrestling
Coach Fisher is now in his 29th year competing or coaching wrestling. Coach Fisher moved to Fauquier County from Wingate, Pennsylvania, where he wrestled at Bald Eagle Area High School, a perennial powerhouse of Pennsylvania wrestling. While at BEA, he compiled a record of 47-12, and was a district champ and state qualifier.
After graduating from BEA in 1991, Coach Fisher attended and wrestled for the Pennsylvania State University from 1991 - 1995. During that time, Penn State was consistently one of the top 5 NCAA wrestling programs in the nation. He graduated from PSU in 1996 with a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering. While finishing his degree, he helped coach the 1995-1996 BEA Junior High wrestling team to an 18-0 season. Three years later, this same group of kids finished as the #1 High School wrestling team in the country. From 1996 to 2008, Coach Fisher was the head assistant coach at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax County, Virginia. During many of those 11 years, Robinson finished as top 5 AAA team. Coach Fisher came to Fauquier High School as an assistant for the 2008-2009, 2009-2010 seasons.
Coach Fisher moved to Fauquier in 1996. He is currently living in Broad Run, VA with wife, Debbie, 8 year old son, Sammie, 6 year old daughter, Stefanie. He is currently employed as a Senior Software Engineer for Northrop Grumman in Herndon VA, a top-tier Defense Contractor.
