Girls Lose Home Opener vs. John Champe

The Knights had a 2 goal lead inside the first 10 minutes of the match. The score was still 2-0 at halftime.

In the second half, the gap closed to 2-1 at 7:31 minutes into the second half when Sedona Bisek won the ball on the left hand side and broke away from the back line, slotting a shot into the right corner.

Both teams had chances, but the game remained 2-1 until the 34^th minute in the second half. With just 6 minutes remaining, the Knights were awarded a penalty kick for a “phantom” penalty that supposedly occurred after the play was dead and goalkeeper Emily Williamson had already made the save. The Knights converted the penalty kick and John Champe opened their season with a 3-1 win.
