LIBERTY (BEALETON): 0
The girls managed to pull off a late victory against a very competitive Liberty team in a steady light rain and drizzle in Bealeton. The Eagles were very organized defensively and limited the girls' scoring chances in the first half while creating some scoring chances of their own. Neither team could break through in the first half and at halftime the score was 0-0.
The game remained scoreless for much of the second half as both defenses proved hard to break down. The girls finally broke through with 9 minutes remaining when striker Cassidy Wagoner passed the ball out to left winger Julie Kohler. Julie cut inside and dribbled into the penalty box before unleashing a shot that sailed into the upper right hand corner of the goal beating the Eagles goalkeeper. The girls sealed the victory with 4:30 remaining when Julie took a corner kick from the right hand side. The ball was deflected out of the box by an Eagles defender where it was collected by midfielder Mia Barreda. Mia drilled a shot from 25 yards out for the final goal giving the girls a hard fought 2-0 win.
