The girls bus broke down just before Interstate 95 and they had to endure an almost one hour delay waiting for a replacement bus. They finally arrived at King George at 7:05, had to wait out the junior varsity game and then were limited to a shortened pregame warm-up. In spite of that they came out and played their best game of the season. Megan Dietrich scored the games only goal less than three minutes into the game. Laura Cornish took the team's second corner kick and drove it to the edge of the 6-yard box. After the ball was knocked down, it was played back out to Laura who sent a high cross in towards the back post. Megan headed the ball into the upper right hand corner to give the girls a 1-0 lead. The girls created a number of other quality scoring chances after that but could not convert.
Fortunately the Falcons back line of Kailey Vance, Erin Jones, Laura Cornish and Claire Beaulieu was solid in shutting down a number of King George attacks without allowing a shot. They were also excellent in support, allowing the team to keep possession and advance into the attacking half of the field. Goalkeeper Kaylee Lamper was called on to make one vital save with just under four minutes remaining and she quickly came off her line, dove to her right and smothered the ball to preserve the lead. A great defensive recovery run by Claire Beaulieu helped in preventing the game tying goal. When the girls arrived back at the school at 11:15 they had been on the road for 7 hours, but came home with a well deserved win.
